About

People frequently ask me, "What is your medium? and I'm finally comfortable in saying, "Charcoal, oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor...Yes, all over the map!" I draw or paint just about anything I see that interests me; however, the human figure and face, animals and their antics, and glorious landscapes are my favorite subjects. In years past, my art has been basically realistic with an impressionistic bent; but my style is transitioning to impressionistic with an abstract leaning; characterized by exaggerated color and unusual compositions.

I spent many years raising a family, volunteering and working in various careers. In 1990, I decided to seriously pursue ART. Building on my Fine Arts Degree foundation, I signed up for masters classes at CU Denver, joined the Arts Students League of Denver and took many workshops in Santa Fe, Taos and Palm Desert, CA to further my skills. Other Memberships have included the American Society of Portrait Artists and the Pastel Society. I am currently a member of the Colorado Artist Guild, The Coachella Valley Watercolor Society in Palm Desert, CA, a long-time member of the Lawrence Street Artists Studio in downtown Denver and a member of the newly established Inca Street Artists in the Santa Fe Art District in Denver, CO.

My mentors include the late Mel Carter, David Leffel, Albert Handel, Scott Burdick, Charles Reid, Bob Burridge and Jack Rowe; however, my recent years of professional studies with Quang Ho have totally changed the way I "see" the world around me.
